Lowell was raised on the family farm near Davenport, Nebraska.  It was a diversified farm with cattle and hog enterprises, along with corn, sorghum, wheat, and soybean production.  Lowell graduated from University of Nebraska with a degree in Animal Science and Ag Econ, and farmed for 7 years before a 2 year stint helping manage a large feedlot near Chambers, Ne.  He began his seed career in 1984 with Pioneer Hi-Bred International as a district sale manager in Northeast Nebraska until 2000 when he left there and started The Seed Source, Inc. in Wayne, Nebraska.
